you read the most amazing things.

our reading lists match EXACTLY. or very close.

"nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands" e. e. cummings

"Wild nights are my glory." Mrs. Whatsit, A Wrinkle In Time

"Forever and ever, we say it when we are young, or in our dreams. Twice we say it, do we not? Forever and ever, so that a thing may be forever, a life or a love or a quest, and yet begin again, and be forever just as before." Susan Cooper

there are more. i won't bore you...

talk to you later,
lynn

does it make me superficial if several of the quotes that i find humorous come from movies like mean girls? if it does than too bad, so sad. haha, i'm silly sometimes.

hey, this may sound a little offensive but are you a dude or a chick? your profile doesn't say and no one ever talks about you in the third person.
let me know☺

"With birds I'll share this lonly view"

I like that one...

raingirl, i like those quotes! especially susan cooper's.
beachbum, let me ask you a question. actually, two: which do you think i am? and why do you want to know?
gemz, i like lewis carrol's best, too. and kermit the frog's.

awesome quotes! When did lemony snicket and j.k. rowling say those? I want to be someone who has a great quote that people will remember too.

Alannah said...

Those are awesome quotes! I know a bunch of good quotes too but the one that I'm thinking about right now is by Terry Pratchett, one of my favorite authors.

"Go on, prove me wrong. Destroy the fabric of the universe. See if I care." -Terry Pratchett

first, I think you sound like a guy and second, because if you are a guy, you are a very smart guy and if you are a girl you just seem like a normal girl(that enjoys literature)
does that answer your question? if so, will you now answer mine?
this time, let me know☺

griffinrider said...

me too, vynn. that would be incredible. but i have to think of something smart to say first...

alannah, i like that a lot!

beachbum, are you implying that girls are smarter than guys? and what, pray tell, is your gender? not knowing mine adds to the mysterios alure of griffinrider, don't you think?

griffinrider said...

oh, and vynn: lemony snicket wrote that many, many times. and j.k. rowling's quote comes from book 7. it's the last sentence in the chapter "King's Cross".

Anonymous said...

that's not an answer! i'm sitting here pouting now. *sniff* and it is very true that it is more rare for guys to like to read than it is for girls. and now i'm sure that you are a guy because a girl would have been like "that is so true, guys don't like reading as much as us!"
so not a real answer

i am also wondering about your age. the reason for this is i have just finished reading your debate( should i call it that)with wiimaker and you seem to know tons about religion. all kinds. right now i am 14 and just really starting to learn and question my religion. i don't know half of the things you have said and you aren't even the same religion as me. i really just want to know if i am a normal 14 year old or if you just a lot older than me.
let me know
-christine☺
p.s.if you don't want to share your actual age, a rough number would be okay, too. like middle schooler, high schooler, college student, or out of school and living on your own.

those are awesome quotes!! the lemony snicket one was my motto for years (i was a major fan) but i really like the albert einstine one and the bill watterson (did i spell that right) ones.

i think my favourite quote is from the hitchikers guide to the galexy book - so long and thanks for all the fish - Douglas adams

i LOVE kermit the frog, GO GREN PEOPLE!

"to know is nothing. to imagen is everything."

you know, griffinrider, you remind me of someone from my school. his name is hensen. he is dating one of my friends. he likes to read a lot and writes the best short stories. hensen can be a little hard to get along with sometimes. you guys are both quite witty and scarcastic. i just thought i would tell you that. in case you wanted to know. get back to me soon.

Lewis Carol?!?!

Lemony Snicket. =)

I like the quotes. They say a lot of things we don't have to.

griffinrider said...

ok, beachbum, i give in. here's some info about me: i'm fifteen, in tenth grade. and your comment about boys and girls made me laugh. and about religion, well, i wondered about it, so i did some research and found some answers. you should do the same, but be careful- many, if not all, written things on literature are biased. this means they may not be 1005 true. be sure you're looking in the right places. and remember- don't believe everything other people tell you to.

hey star! i happen to know that part of romeo and juliet by heart. it goes like this: "for never was there a story of more woe, than this of juliet and her romeo." you were very close!

"to know is nothing, to imagine is everything." hmm. who said that, i wonder? it does sound vaguely familiar. lol. i didn't make that up, by the way. i got it from somewhere, but i don't know who first said it. nevertheless, it is my personal motto.

oh, and beachbum- if i remind you of hensen, i sincerely hope that he's a nice guy. if you beg a little more, MAYBE i'll tell you my gender. maybe.

griffinrider said...

oh, mella-marrie! good to see you back!
yes, lewis carrol, author of alice in wonderland. some people think it's just a book of nonsense, but often, it is from nonsense where we find the most wisdom.

Zetsu said...

sounds like an awesome book!! mine is coming pretty slowly too. I always tend to space out or get distracted, so I get like, 3 sentences a day in!

Anonymous said...

well, i'm not really in the mood to beg right now. why don't i ask you something else instead. what is the best/favorite book you have ever read? i couldn't think of any other trivia that i might like to know. and just so we're clear, i still think you are a guy. it's okay that i don't know. oh well.
-Christine☺

okay, okay, you caught me. i do want to know so here is my best attempt at begging through a comment.

will you pleeease tell me if you are a girl or a guy. *loud whiney noise* pretty please with a cherry on top and sprinkles and chocolate and whip cream and m&ms and ...

griffinrider said...

you had me at whipped cream! just one last question, beachbummer, before i even think about answering: why do you want to know? just out of curiosity? answer this, and i'll tell you if i'm a guy, ok?

the best book i've ever read? wow, that's a tough one. there's so many good books! though currenlty i pretty much have nothing to read, besides this really boring book i need to read for a report. got any recomendations?
some of my favorite authors are orson scott card, james patterson, libba bray, and george orwell.

griffinrider said...

oh, gosh! i totally forgot to mention one of my favorite quotes of all time!:
"the animals outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pug to man again, but already it was impossible to tell which was which."
-george orwell.

the quote is from Animal Farm, which i highly recommend.

i knew i was forgetting something!

Anonymous said...

ohh! i like that book! we read it in my school book discussion a few months ago. recomendations... mmm... i'm sorta thinking that you are above my reading level but here are a few. lord of the flies(you have probably have already read it) and wuthering heights. they were both a little hard for me. wuthering height starts really slow, too. i can't really think of any others now.

and why i want to know, i don't know. it doesn't really matter. i will keep talking to you and write comments either way. i don't know. sorry. but i do want to know.

and since the whipcream got you, pretty please with a whole can of rediwhip on top. mmm... that's my favorite.

My favorite quote is from Edward in Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.

It is "It's not only your company I crave! Never forget that. Never forget I am more dangerous to you than I am to anyone else."

I don't really know why I like it so much but I love it. Especially the "It's not only your company I crave!Never forget that." part.

I swear if it is possible to be addicted to a book I would be addicted to Twilight.

I liked a lot of your quotes to.

Beachbum said...

Hi griffinrider! I just made my own blog. Check it out if you have time. Talk to you later.
-Christine♥

griffinrider said...

dreamz, i never read twilight, because all the kids in my school who love it are the type who love stupid girly books like "the clique". it's fine if people like books like that, but i most definitely don't. and if they liked twilight, that almost guarentees that i will hate it.

and, yes, although i hate girly books, shopping, make-up, and anything pink and fluffy, i am a girl. though i would probably be better off as a boy. satisfied, beachbum?

Beachbum said...

ok, i'm satisfied. and about the whole twilight thing. i love twilight and i hate the clique series. that probably doesn't matter so here is some more proof that it is great. my dad loved it. he triple majored in German, business, and English literature. my mom also loved it. she didn’t' major in literature though. i truly hope for your sake that you read it. it's great. if you don't, you are really missing out. and again, sorry i thought you were a guy. nothing personal. really. i'm glad you got a chance to check out my new blog! i hope it gets more exciting soon.
-Christine♥

Beth said...

It is NOT a stupid girly book! Books like that need to be burned! Or at least not read by me...Although I might end up reading one when I'm bored.>.<

I would say they probably grabbed it due to the fact that, yes, it has a romance and the author is crazy about Romeo and Juliet.

But it has werewolves and vampires, and fights and stuff! And well...um...the characters are really neat. And its awesome, and you can't stop rereading it.

And I'm rambling about books again...

But it is good.

Beachbum said...

hey griffinrider. how are you today? i was just wondering, those books i recomended, what do you think? have you read them? talk to you soon.
-Christine♥

hi. what have you been up to. sorry that i havent been on in a long time.

i had to do it twice till it showed up

griffinrider said...

hey beachbum! no, i didn't read those books. though i did watch the movie Wuthering heights a long time ago. i don't really remember it, though.

dreamz, you've convinced me. maybe i'll try reading twilight. though the way those girls go on about it, you'd think they were talking about one of my mom's cheesey romance novels.

hi rosestar! nice to hear from you!

and gemz, i don't know why it won't work, but i really want it to!

Beachbum said...

hey griffin,
do you mind if i call you that?! so i haven't read anything new lately, anything you would recommend other than what is on my list of books? i need something interesting to fill the long months until breaking dawn comes out. august 2nd. i can hardly wait. bye.
-Christine♥

Beachbum said...

i think i meant can't hardly wait. the other way sorta cancels itself out. whatever. bye.

Beachbum said...

please make me smile.
tell me a joke or try to write the sound a grandfather clock makes or something. i'm crying and i hate it. why is the world so mean to others. and i'm not crying for myself. i'm crying for someone who was hurt and the person that created the hurt. how can you do that to another person. i need a hug. help me.

hey one of my favorite quote i got from this kid i know

i hate his big bro though hes a creep

but the thing about the quote is i don't know who said it first so

"a smile is a crooked line that makes everything else straight"

and then one that i say all the time from the bible proverbs 6:6-11
which says-
"go to the ant you sluggard, consider its ways and be wise it has no commander no overseer or ruler yet it stores up provisions in summer and gathers food for harvest, why do you lie there you sluggard when will you get up from your sleep, a little sleep a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come to you like a bandit and scarcety like an armed man,"

hahaha say that to you brother next time you find him playing the wii!!!! i use it all the time!

and i liked the one kermit said hehe

oh remembered something funny

ever seen the princess bride?

a miracle man is supposed to bring the "mostly dead" guy back from the dead and when the people leave his wife looks at him and asks "think it'll work?" and said miracle man
"it would take a miracle"

hahaha that is my favorite movie in the world

you should talk about movies

or like curtain kinds of movies cuz thats a lot
hehe
well ill stop now
